Star Princess
Two bespoke daybed designs — the Arch and Cocoon — custom-engineered for the premium outdoor spaces of Princess Cruises' Sphere-class flagship.

Project Overview
Star Princess is the second Sphere-class vessel in the Princess Cruises fleet — at 177,882 GT, one of the largest and most ambitious ships afloat. Built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone and launched in October 2025, she introduced a new standard of premium cruising with LNG propulsion, The Dome — a transforming glass-enclosed pool-by-day and performance-venue-by-night — and the Sanctuary Collection, an exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept for suite guests. Princess Cruises approached BLOOM with a brief unlike any other: to design and manufacture two entirely bespoke daybed pieces that would exist nowhere else in the world. The result was the Arch and the Cocoon — two sculptural canopy daybeds, each handwoven from marine-grade synthetic fibre over corrosion-resistant aluminium frames, with IMO-certified outdoor cushions and Teflon foot caps engineered for deck use. The Arch daybed features a soaring dome-shaped canopy in a warm beige weave, sheltering a deep mattress with teal accent cushions — an enclosed, nest-like retreat that offers privacy and shade while remaining open to the sea breeze. The Cocoon takes a different approach: an open-front arch in a lighter natural weave on a white frame, with taupe cushions and dark accent pillows, creating a sculptural silhouette that invites guests to recline and gaze outward. Both pieces were developed through multiple rounds of design iteration, material testing, and prototype review to meet Princess Cruises' exacting standards for safety, durability, and guest comfort. They stand as a testament to what BLOOM does best: translating a client's vision into handcrafted furniture that feels both extraordinary and entirely at home on the open sea.
