Teak is a beautiful material. Slow-grown, naturally oily, capable of forty winters in the open air. It is also a maintenance commitment most owners underestimate.

We've worked with teak for years and watched customers live with it. The hairline cracks that arrive in year two are natural and structurally harmless — and, to most owners, unacceptable. So was the silvering. So were the scrub-and-oil rituals. Teak rewards patience. Very few buyers wanted a hobby with their dining table.

ELIOS is built around aluminum and Everteak — a high-impact polystyrene, engineered for outdoor life and shaped to read like wood under the hand. The wood-toned surfaces on the tabletops, daybed slats, and lounger panels are Everteak. The frame beneath is powder-coated aluminum.

What you gain: through-colored surfaces that hold their warmth for ten to fifteen years without oiling, sealing, or sanding. No silver patina unless you want one. No splits when the seasons turn. Insects ignore it. So does mildew. Coastal salt and pool chemistry don't register.

What you trade: Everteak runs warmer than teak under direct sun, especially on darker tones. Scratches are permanent — deep ones mean a panel replacement, not a refinish. And it won't develop the slow patina of real wood. ELIOS will look the way it looks now in year ten.
