Project Overview

Perched on the cliffs above the Petanu River near Ubud, Bumi Kinar is a study in contrasts — heritage Balinese architecture by the late Bapak Hadiprana alongside contemporary villas by TWS & Partners, connected by a 600-metre floating rampway that curves through the jungle canopy. The name means "Earth and Light," and the resort lives up to it: lotus leaf-inspired forms, green roofing, and floating structures that barely touch the ground beneath them. BLOOM furnished the Skylight villas' private terraces, the infinity pool deck, and the outdoor lounge and dining areas with pieces chosen for their clean, modern lines — a natural complement to the resort's organic architecture. Recognised with a Bronze A' Design Award, Bumi Kinar is a new landmark in Ubud's luxury landscape, and every detail of its outdoor spaces was designed to disappear into the surrounding forest.
