Project Overview

InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort stands on the northwest coast of Mauritius, where Balaclava Bay meets the Indian Ocean. Built from hand-chiselled limestone and African timber, the 210-room resort wraps around two infinity pools, a private salt-water lagoon with its own islet, and a stretch of white sand framed by the ruins of an 18th-century colonial fort. Every room faces the sea. BLOOM furnished the resort's outdoor spaces across the entire property: woven dining chairs and parasols for the beachside Segala restaurant, daybed lounges on the beach, hanging cocoon chairs along the shoreline, balcony dining sets and swing chairs for all 210 rooms, and poolside loungers for both the main and south pools. In a coastal environment where salt air and equatorial sun define every surface, the furniture was chosen to hold its colour and form — bringing texture, comfort, and a contemporary island character to one of the Indian Ocean's landmark resort addresses.
