SCATTER PILLOWS

Seat cushions and scatter pillows do different jobs. BLOOM builds them differently — by design.

A BLOOM seat cushion runs on Quick-Dry Foam: an open-pore core that sheds water within hours of rain. That construction is exactly what a seat needs. It is also exactly the wrong feel for a pillow.

A pillow needs plushness, lift, and the slow return when a hand presses into it. Solid foam cannot do that. So BLOOM's scatter-pillow inlets are filled with Quick-Dry Crush — chopped Quick-Dry Foam blended with polyester fiber, sealed inside a soft inner mesh. The shredded foam pieces give body and carry the same open-pore drainage as a BLOOM seat cushion. The polyester fiber wraps around them for the soft, yielding feel of a real pillow. Together, the blend holds its shape across years of use and resists the flattening that polyester-only fills are known for.

A note for existing customers. We rebuilt the scatter-pillow filling in 2026. Earlier pillows were filled with pure polyester; new ones use Quick-Dry Crush. Pillows reordered today will feel fuller and more resilient than the earlier generation — and will hold that feel longer. Cover, sizes and fabric range are unchanged.

The cover is BLOOM's outdoor fabric — the same weatherproof material used across the seat cushions. Zippered, fully removable, washable separately from the inlet.

A note on leaving them outside. The covers handle weather. The inlets are outdoor-rated, and the chopped foam inside drains fast — but the polyester fiber alongside it holds moisture far longer than the solid foam of a seat cushion. The simplest care is to bring the pillows in before rain or heavy dew. For full-time outdoor use, BLOOM's breathable protection covers keep the inlets dry without trapping condensation. Either approach preserves the feel and lifespan that Quick-Dry Crush is built for.
